Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes new attorney Laila S. Wolfgram, who will serve as Counsel in the firm’s St. Louis office. As a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, Wolfgram’s practice focuses on trademark law, copyright and branding.

Wolfgram assists clients with the selection and protection of trademarks, service marks and trade dress, as she conducts all aspects of trademark prosecution, including counseling clients about trademark development and availability in the United States and abroad. She also has extensive experience with opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, among other responsibilities.

“This is an exciting time for our IP team, which has experienced steady, strategic growth in key areas of our Department this year,” said Polsinelli Intellectual Property Department Chair Patrick Woolley. “Laila brings a robust skill set and practice experience to our team, particularly in the areas of trademark prosecution and counseling. Her addition represents the continued growth of our IP team.”

In addition to her trademark practice, Wolfgram regularly performs due diligence for intellectual property assets in corporate transactions; she often drafts, reviews and negotiates license agreements. She also counsels clients on topics related to copyright and trade secret protection.

Wolfgram’s hire continues the firm’s trend of growth within the Intellectual Property Department over the course of 2019. Earlier this year, the firm added well-known IP attorney Phil Hampton, former U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Assistant Trademark Commissioner, as Senior Partner in Washington, D.C., as well as new Associate Monica Gutierrez in Chicago.

Polsinelli has one of the largest IP practices in the nation with a deep bench of attorneys, patent agents, scientists and other professionals, having been nationally ranked in U.S. News & World Report's 2018 "Best Law Firms" for Patent Law, Trademark Law and Litigation - Intellectual Property. The Department includes respected professionals who have previously served in positions such as Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, Director of the USPTO, Executive Director of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and as a Mentor in the Global Intellectual Property Academy.
