Polishuk brings deep knowledge of California and federal employment laws and is an experienced litigator before state and federal courts
Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes experienced employment law litigator Alex Polishuk as counsel, and new Associate Keia James Atkinson, continuing the firm’s growth of its Los Angeles office. Polishuk focuses his practice on helping clients navigate the intricacies of California and federal employment laws as a member of Polsinelli’s national Employment Litigation Practice.

Polishuk leverages his litigation experience to the benefit of his clients before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators for a variety of claims including: wage and hour claims, including class actions and PAGA allegations, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, equal pay, breach of contract, antitrust, trade secret and disability accommodation. Polishuk regularly represents Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, hotels, public municipalities and local businesses.
Polishuk works diligently with clients to ensure compliance with all employment laws. He frequently trains management and C-level executives to understand their obligations as company representatives and regularly assists human resource professionals in creating and updating employee handbooks and workplace policies that track California’s developing employment laws.

Polishuk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with cum laude honors, prior to obtaining a J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He furthers his legal knowledge through memberships with the Los Angeles and California Bar Associations, the California Lawyers Association and Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He regularly presents on a variety of employment topics, including effective managerial practices, the Affordable Care Act, classification of independent contractors after the passage of AB-5, and prevention of sexual harassment for management and supervisory personnel.
Polishuk is fluent in Russian.
Atkinson focuses his practice on a wide variety of sensitive workplace matters, including single plaintiff and complex class action wage-and-hour litigation, high-profile workplace investigations, compliance counseling and high-profile entertainment-sector employment law. His litigation experience includes representing Fortune 100 companies in state and federal court involving an array of claims, including wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination, independent contract status and breach of contract, to name a few.
Atkinson earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma before obtaining his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law with a Concentration in Employment and Labor Law.
With the two new attorneys, Polsinelli has now added six lawyers to its Los Angeles office so far this year.
