Corporate Counsel magazine’s annual patent litigation survey ranked Polsinelli No. 24 by volume of patent litigation, a rise of 14 spots from the previous year. 

The survey ranks each firm based on the number of federal district court patent suits handled each year. In 2015, Polsinelli handled a combined 45 court cases, including 30 as the defendant and 15 as the plaintiff. Polsinelli ranked No. 14 on the national plaintiff list, up from 32. For the defense, Polsinelli ranked No. 23, up from No. 38. 

Polsinelli’s Intellectual Property & Technology Litigation practice is among the country’s largest, with a more than 120 attorneys, patent agents and scientists. The team represents global, national and regional companies, and individuals in patent matters, and was named one of four 2016 “IP Powerhouses” in the nation by BTI Litigation Outlook.  

Corporate Counsel reported a near-record number of patent cases filed in U.S. district courts in 2015. An estimated 5,828 new patent lawsuits were filed, according to the article, representing a 15 percent increase over 2014.
