Polsinelli welcomes Sherin Joharifard Bruning to the firm where she will assist clients with toxic and mass tort litigation matters. Bruning joins a national Toxic and Mass Tort Practice with attorneys in Chicago, Kansas City, Phoenix and St. Louis. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Bruning practiced at a defense firm handling toxic and mass tort cases.

“We are excited to have Sherin as we continue to expand our footprint within the St. Louis marketplace,” said Randy S. Gerber, managing director of the St. Louis office. “Polsinelli is committed to helping the next generation of attorneys within the metropolitan region and to becoming the firm of choice for legal professionals in the St. Louis area.”

The Toxic and Mass Tort group at Polsinelli Shughart has successfully defended tens of thousands of toxic and mass tort cases. Named as national and regional defense counsel because of their integrity and insight, the attorneys have coordinated and mounted significant defense efforts on behalf of major industrial clients.

“Litigation and advocacy are my passion,” said Bruning. “Polsinelli’s national litigation reputation attracted me to the firm. I look forward to collaborating with some very experienced national litigation attorneys.”

Bruning graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with honors, from the Honors College at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007. She subsequently attended Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating with a law degree in 2010. Bruning served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Colleen Dolan.

She was admitted to both the U.S. District Court of Eastern District of Missouri and the U.S. District Court of Western District of Missouri in 2010. Bruning is a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar Associations. In addition, she was previously selected to be a faculty fellow and research assistant to a professor of legal writing at Saint Louis University, where she has also served as a guest lecturer for undergraduate coursework.
