Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli has continued to add to its growing Houston presence with the addition of Counsel LaTasha (Tasha) Snipes, who joins the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation practice.

Snipes is an experienced litigator for a wide array of intellectual property (IP) matters, including patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright litigation. She also assists clients with technology transactions, commercialization strategies for their IP, and privacy issues. She has experience with patent matters across a wide range of technologies, including smart home technology, software, computer hardware, advanced systems for aircraft and oilfield technology. She has litigated patent infringement matters and other IP disputes throughout the United States, including key patent jurisdictions such as the Southern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas and the District of Delaware.

“Tasha’s representation of a variety of prominent clients in Houston and well beyond – from the largest school district in Texas to Fortune 500 firms and financial institutions – has helped protect their brands and propel their success,” said Patrick Woolley, chair of Polsinelli’s IP department. “With her deep knowledge of both the Houston business community and her reputation as a leader in this rapidly changing field, Tasha will further elevate the firm’s provision of exceptional service to existing and future clients.”

Snipes completed her J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center and earned her B.S. in electrical engineering at Iowa State University.

She has been named to The National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 from 2017 – 2019 and previously served as a submissions editor with the University of Houston Law Center’s Houston Business & Tax Law Journal. She is a member of the Houston Intellectual Property Association and The Honorable Nancy F. Atlas Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.

“With Tasha’s electrical engineering background for both the energy and aerospace industries, she is exceptionally well-qualified to advise business leaders in key industry sectors and meaningfully deepens the bench of our dynamic Houston office,” said Tracy Druce, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Houston office and vice chair of the firm’s IP department. “We and our clients will benefit tremendously from Tasha’s joining the team and her experience helping to advance, protect and solve complex client issues concerning intellectual property and beyond.”

Polsinelli’s Texas offices, with approximately 80 professionals in Dallas and Houston, have grown by more than tenfold in less than a decade. This robust local presence provides a gateway to a national, full-service law firm that delivers sophisticated legal counsel and client service, infused with deeply held values. Polsinelli is strongly committed to supporting businesses ranging from entrepreneurial, innovative start-up companies to middle-market leaders across a wide range of industry sectors, and the firm is significantly involved in many of the region’s key civic and community service groups.
