Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli has named Brian Bullard as the new managing partner of the firm’s dynamically growing Dallas office. Bullard begins his tenure February 1, succeeding Jon Henderson, who has held the position since Polsinelli first entered the Dallas market in 2011 and who continues his other significant firm leadership roles, as well as his active legal practice. Under Henderson’s leadership, Polsinelli’s Dallas office has grown to more than 55 attorneys today – its highest headcount to date – while enhancing its depth of practice and service offerings.

Bullard, a shareholder in the firm’s Investment Funds and Corporate and Transactional practices, joined Polsinelli in 2017. His legal practice primarily centers on private equity and matters relating to the structuring, formation and management of private investment vehicles, including joint ventures; private equity, hedge, co-investment, seeding and hybrid funds; special-purpose entities; operating companies; and managed accounts. He regularly represents both emerging and institutional managers and sponsors with a variety of commercial and real estate transactions.

“Brian is an accomplished leader within his legal practice and has certainly earned this new leadership position,” said Polsinelli Chairman and CEO Chase Simmons. “During his time at Polsinelli, he has demonstrated an impressive drive and commitment to our clients, our firm and the North Texas community. We know that his passion for excellence and strategic mindset will be reflected in his leadership of the Dallas office as it continues to evolve and grow, to better serve clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and well beyond.”

Bullard is a Texas native and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with honors, and his master’s degree in professional accounting, as well as the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he earned his juris doctor, cum laude. Bullard is passionate about creating a positive impact in his community and regularly supports not-for-profit organizations dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. As office managing partner, Bullard intends to guide Polsinelli’s growth and recruitment efforts in Dallas, while further strengthening the firm’s relationship with civic and business leaders in the region.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to lead Polsinelli’s Dallas office,” said Bullard. “Our Dallas team, as well as the hundreds of Polsinelli professionals firm-wide, are exceptionally skilled at what they do, serve great clients and are truly collaborative in their daily work with one another. We are also very fortunate to have benefited from years of Jon’s strong, visionary leadership. My goal is to continue building on this legacy going forward.”

Henderson recently joined Polsinelli’s firm-wide board of directors, which provides overall strategic guidance and support for the firm’s 900 attorneys in 21 offices nationwide. He also continues to serve as the chair of Polsinelli’s distinguished Corporate and Transactional practice, co-lead of the firm’s Health Care M+A practice and as chair emeritus of the annual Healthcare Dealmakers Conference, which he founded 13 years ago to showcase innovation and merger-and-acquisition (M&A) activity in the healthcare industry. Henderson’s practice focuses on advising founders, strategic buyers and financial sponsors across the U.S. on forming, structuring, buying and selling, reorganizing, and joint venturing multi-site, multi-state health care services businesses.

“It has been a privilege to serve as the Dallas office managing partner for nearly a decade, and to have personally witnessed its amazing growth,” said Henderson. “I am so proud of the work we have done together to date, and I am completely confident that the office and our team in Dallas will continue to thrive under Brian’s more-than-capable leadership. He is an extremely talented lawyer, a vital contributor to our Investment Funds and Corporate and Transactional practices, and a positive force in the community. In our respective leadership roles, Brian and I share a deep commitment to the personal growth and success of each person in the Dallas office and the larger Polsinelli family nationally. Brian’s belief in the Polsinelli values, culture and way of serving our clients and colleagues will continue building into our collective future.”

Polsinelli’s Texas offices, with approximately 80 professionals in Dallas and Houston, have grown by more than tenfold in less than a decade. This robust local presence provides a gateway to a national, full-service law firm that delivers sophisticated legal counsel and client service, infused with deeply held values. Polsinelli is strongly committed to supporting businesses ranging from entrepreneurial, innovative start-up companies to middle-market leaders across a wide range of industry sectors, and the firm is significantly involved in many of the region’s key civic and community service groups.
