Michael Strand, a real estate attorney and shareholder with Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli
, has been appointed to serve on the corporate board of directors for NAIOP and to participate in the organization’s “Trends in Real Estate Development I Forum.”
Working with real estate development and finance clients, Strand identifies business-focused legal options to address their sophisticated needs. He provides guidance as they acquire, finance, develop, operate and sell commercial real estate. Strand also represents national and regional financial institutions in structuring, negotiating and documenting real estate-secured transactions throughout the country.
“Mike’s extensive experience in real estate and finance will benefit members of NAIOP tremendously,” said Amy Kiefer Hansen, chair of Polsinelli’s national Real Estate practice, who also practices out of the firm’s Denver office. “His involvement with the Colorado Chapter of NAIOP has positioned him well to succeed in this national role.”

In this role, Strand use his experience representing developers, investors and end-users in the creation and operation of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects of all sizes, with an emphasis on condominiums and planned communities which are governed by the Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act. Strand has been an integral part of multiple of real estate developments in various asset classes.
Prior to being named to the corporate board, Strand was selected by NAIOP as one of its top 10 Developing Leaders nationally in 2014 and served on the Colorado chapter board and as Programs Committee Chair. He has been recognized by the Denver Business Journal
with its "40 Under 40" honors and is a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation “Leadership Denver” class of 2014. He has served on the ULI Colorado Multifamily Product Council and complete the Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program.
Strand is a member of the Colorado Bar Association Real Estate Section. He earned his Juris Doctororate cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
