National law firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce that three shareholders from its Dallas office have been selected for inclusion in 2012 Texas Super Lawyers®. Only five percent of attorneys in each state are selected for this honor.

The following attorneys were included on the 2012 Texas Super Lawyers list:
  • Leane C. Medford – Commercial Litigation/Appellate Practice. In addition, Medford, was recently named in both the "Top 50 Women" and "Dallas/Fort Worth Region, Top 100" sections of the Texas Super Lawyers 2012 publication.
  • William E. Swart – Corporate Law/Private Equity Practice.
  • Henry Talavera – Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

Leane C. Medford’s innovative approach to commercial litigation and appeals have also resulted in her section for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® and “Top 100 Attorneys in Dallas/Fort Worth” lists. Her practice includes handling litigation and appellate matters related to intellectual property disputes, copyright and source code enforcement, trade secrets, employment law matters, Fair Labor Standards Act matters, class and collective actions, aviation related litigation, oil and gas litigation, indemnity and fraud claims, business torts and contract actions.

William E. Swart’s practice is focused on private equity transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, leveraged financings and add-on acquisitions. He is often engaged to provide strategic counsel to portfolio companies, relating to recapitalization and other liquidity transactions. Swart regularly counsels boards of directors and executive officers relating to fiduciary duties, interested party transaction and corporate governance issues, including compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Henry Talavera has a broad-based practice involving all areas of employee benefits law. He advises public, private and tax-exempt employers on the design, implementation and administration of all types of welfare plans and tax-qualified retirement plans. He also has worked on executive compensation and employment agreements, including equity compensation and deferred compensation arrangements for partnerships. In addition, he has counseled clients with respect to Federal health care and related laws impacting employer medical plans.

The Dallas office opened in May 2011 and is the fifteenth Polsinelli office nationally, but it is the fastest growing, increasing four-fold in less than one year of its opening in 2011. Moving to its new location in the Uptown Tower at Saint Ann Court, the office is positioned for further growth and enhances the firm’s resources in another key metropolitan area.

While the Dallas office continues to grow with strategic additions to its legal team, the firm had a previous connection to the State of Texas as Former Dallas Congressman Martin Frost, a shareholder primarily in the Washington, D.C. office, devotes some time to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area where he served as a U.S. House of Representative for 26 years.
