Polsinelli welcomes attorney René Calabrese as an associate in the firm’s Financial Services department where she will focus her practice on all aspects of tax credit finance and development and affordable housing. Calabrese spent the past three years working as in-house counsel for the Missouri Housing Development Commission where she developed extensive experience in closing affordable housing real estate transaction while utilizing multiple layers of funding, tax credits, stimulus funds and other various incentives.
“We are very excited to have René join us. We have worked with her and have great respect for her knowledge and experience. She will be a great addition to our group,” said Janice E. Hetland, chair of the Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Finance and Development group.
Polsinelli ’s Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Finance and Development group consists of more than a dozen attorneys in Kansas City and St. Louis. They assist clients regarding development and finance of projects utilizing federal historic tax credits, federal new markets tax credits, federal energy tax credits and federal low-income housing tax credits.

Calabrese earned her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2007 where her emphasis was on Urban, Land Use and Environmental Law. She also served as editor-in-chief of The Urban Lawyer. Calabrese earned a B.S. degree with a double major in geology and chemistry from Missouri State University in 1999.
