Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes real estate attorney Benjamin M. Lee as Shareholder in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. Lee joins a growing list of recent veteran hires who have chosen to move their practice to Polsinelli’s nationally renowned Real Estate Practice, where he will focus on the increased demand for leasing work.
“We are excited for Ben to join our Washington, D.C., office. His national leasing expertise is a great addition, as we see steady increases in demand for that expertise from our clients across the country,” said Polsinelli Real Estate Practice Chair Amy Kiefer Hansen.
“I am beyond thrilled to welcome Ben to Polsinelli and to rejoin forces with my former colleague,” said real estate attorney Diane Shapiro Richer, a Shareholder in Polsinelli’s Washington, D.C. office.
Lee has grown his career representing clients in commercial real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on commercial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants in office, industrial, and retail environments. Lee also has extensive experience in the development, financing, acquisition and disposition of office, hotel, retail, multifamily and mixed-use commercial properties.
“I am incredibly excited to join the thriving Real Estate Practice at Polsinelli,” said Lee. “Leasing is a critical component of the life cycle of almost every real estate transaction, and I look forward to offering my experience to help further the goals of Polsinelli’s clients in D.C. and nationally. Polsinelli’s reputation for collegiality and commitment to collaboration are the icing on the cake.”
Lee earned his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Tufts University before obtaining a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Associate Editor of the Georgetown University Law Journal and a Legal Research and Writing Law Fellow. Before joining Polsinelli, Lee was at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, and was a part of the real estate groups at Arent Fox and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman prior to that. Lee is also a Hearing Committee member on the D.C. Board on Professional Responsibility, an arm of the D.C. Court of Appeals responsible for adjudicating attorney discipline cases.
Polsinelli’s growing national Real Estate Practice welcomes Lee to a deep bench of attorneys who provide the practical solutions clients value, as well as vast experience in areas that include transactions, financing structures and land use entitlements from acquisition and financing through development and leasing. The Practice continues to achieve a National Tier One ranking in Real Estate Law by U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 “Best Law Firms” list, and it was included in Legal 500’s prestigious 2021 rankings. The Real Estate Practice also earned several prominent placements in the 2021 state, practice and attorney rankings from Chambers USA, a leading legal industry rankings organization.
