Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli congratulates Los Angeles-based Principal Randye Soref for her inclusion in Corporate Counsel’s 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law awards.
Soref was among seven law firm honorees who were recognized in the Thought Leadership Category, and 63 distinguished female attorneys overall who were included across 13 total categories of the Women, Influence & Power in Law awards. She will be recognized at an awards dinner Oct. 16 as part of the annual Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.
“Randye sets a bar high in the restructuring industry, but at the same time she’s taken the time to advocate for diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of women in law,” said Polsinelli Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group Chair Christopher Ward. “Randye has proven to be among the elite and influential female lawyers in the country through her dedication to her clients with her legal industry work outside of our firm. We are proud of Randye and congratulate her on this wonderful achievement.”
Soref focuses her practice on distressed companies and has a national practice representing clients in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out of court restructurings, including reorganizations, corporate workouts, creditor's rights, bankruptcy litigation and assignments for the benefit of creditors.
She routinely represents chapter 11 debtors, unsecured creditor and equity security holder committees, creditors, sellers, buyers liquidating trustees and advises on bankruptcy strategy, counseling, reorganization, enforcement of debt instruments and litigation. Soref has served as lead attorney in nationally-known, distressed intellectual property, retail and apparel companies, including e-commerce companies. She has also led numerous distressed healthcare matters involving large nationally-based hospitals, health plans, health care providers and skilled nursing facilities.
“I’m honored to have been included in this year’s powerhouse list of Women, Influence & Power in Law honorees by Corporate Counsel,” said Soref. “This group of women represents the best and brightest that our industry has to offer, and I am humbled to join so many powerful female lawyers in this year’s recognition.”
This honor from Corporate Counsel adds to a long list of awards and accolades that Soref has received over the course of her career. She has been ranked in Chambers USA every year since 2011, as well as in The Best Lawyers in America® for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law every year since 2013. Soref has been included in Southern California Super Lawyers for 15 consecutive years.
Earlier this year, Soref was named one of the 2019 Most Influential Women Lawyers by the Los Angeles Business Journal. She actively serves as Co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Advisory Board, she’s a board member of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum and she currently serves as the 9th Circuit Lawyer Representative, among other industry and community involvement outside Polsinelli.
