About Rich AuBuchon
Rich AuBuchon is Counsel with the Public Policy group in Jefferson City, Missouri. As Counsel, Mr. AuBuchon represents numerous clients before the Missouri legislature and state and local administrative agencies. As a lobbyist, Mr. AuBuchon brings a strong pro-business background having served as the General Counsel for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc., prior to joining Polsinelli Shughart, P.C.. As General Counsel of the Missouri Chamber, Mr. AuBuchon was responsible for passage of key pro-business legislation which culminated in hundreds of millions of dollars in savings for Missouri employers.
Mr. AuBuchon has unique experience in Missouri politics. Prior to working for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, he worked as the Chief of Staff & General Counsel for Lt. Governor Peter D. Kinder. Peter Kinder was the only Republican to be elected in a statewide election during 2008. Mr. AuBuchon managed the office and served as the chief legal advisor to Lt. Governor Kinder while gaining invaluable experience of the inner workings for Missouri's political landscape.
Mr. AuBuchon also has unique experience in Missouri government. He worked as the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Counsel for the State of Missouri Office of Administration, the business arm of state government. Mr. AuBuchon was a principal drafter of the Missouri state budget while managing all state facilities, procurement, accounting, information technology, human resources, and risk management along with all legal affairs of the Office of Administration. He served on the Senior Staff of Governor Blunt and was relied upon to complete the highest priority issues for government.
Rich AuBuchon’s political and government experience was built upon a solid litigation background. His litigation practice has focused on complex litigation throughout the western United States. Mr. AuBuchon has represented clients in multiple jurisdictions on issues including environmental, endangered species, water, mining, hazardous waste, land use, permits, procurement and employment law.
