Polsinelli Atlanta Continues Expansion with Veteran Health Care Partner
Polsinelli is pleased to announce Daniel J. Mohan
joined the firm as a shareholder in its Atlanta office
A member of the firm's national Health Care Services practice, Mohan represents hospitals and health care systems, physician practices, post-acute care organizations and other health care providers. Polsinelli's Health Care practice is one of the largest concentrations of health care attorneys and professionals in the nation.
“Atlanta is one of the key health care cities in the U.S. and we are extremely pleased to have Dan join us,” said Matthew Murer
, chair of Polsinelli’s Health Care practice. “Dan complements our existing team and helps ensure we can provide comprehensive support to our growing client base in the southeast.”
Mohan represents health care clients in facility acquisition, sale and merger transactions, joint ventures, service line management arrangements, syndications and other investment interest acquisition transactions, leasing and management service arrangements, and other business arrangements. He regularly counsels clients on structuring transactions in compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations that affect such transactions, including physician self-referral laws, including the Stark Law, the federal Anti-kickback Statute and other fraud and abuse laws, state certificate of need and licensure laws and regulations, and state attorney general review laws. He also provides counsel regarding hospital-physician alignment strategies and clinical integration arrangements.
“Adding attorneys with Dan’s level of experience enables us to provide superior service and strategic counsel to our growing health care client base,” said Polsinelli’s Atlanta Office Managing Partner Nancy E. Rafuse. “Our strategic growth in Atlanta has been possible due to level of talent that continues to join us in this rapidly expanding market.”
Last month, Polsinelli ranked No. 10 for strongest client relationships among 650 U.S. law firms by BTI Consulting Group. As part of BTI’s Industry Power Rankings
report, the firm ranked on its Most Recommended Law Firms list as a Powerhouse firm in both Health Care and Real Estate.
“I have always been impressed with Polsinelli’s reputation as one of the top health law firms in the country,” Mohan said. “The breadth and depth of Polsinelli’s health care professionals will enable me to provide the best possible service to my clients.”
A graduate of Marist School in Atlanta, Mohan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. He is a member of the board of directors of the Mercy Care Foundation, the supporting organization for Mercy Care Atlanta, which owns and operates federally qualified health centers throughout metro Atlanta and which operates Atlanta's only health care for the Homeless program.
