Polsinelli Shareholder Bill Mateja Recognized by D CEO Magazine as Influential Leader in North Texas

Dallas-based Polsinelli shareholder Bill Mateja has been recognized in D CEO’s 2018 Dallas 500 publication as one of the Dallas area’s most powerful and influential business leaders. This is the second consecutive year Mateja has earned this honor in the Law – White Collar Criminal Defense subcategory.

The Dallas 500 is a special annual publication produced by the D CEO editors after nearly a year of research and interviews. The publication features the region’s most influential businessmen and businesswomen in more than 60 industry categories who have made North Texas a powerful economic force.

“Bill is an extremely accomplished white collar attorney, and his in-depth experience has built his reputation as a highly respected legal professional,” said Polsinelli’s Dallas Office Managing Partner Jon Henderson. “His energy and commitment to his practice continues to make an impact on the legal industry, and he is truly deserving of the D CEO honor.”

A white collar trial lawyer with a particular focus on healthcare fraud and securities enforcement, Mateja represents clients in complex, high-stakes litigation matters. A former prosecutor at the highest levels of the U.S. Department of Justice, he was responsible for all the Department’s white collar operations, as well as the day-to-day workings of its corporate fraud task force. Mateja also served as special counsel for health care fraud overseeing all of the Department’s health care fraud enforcement.

Mateja’s private practice career has been recognized with numerous accolades from The Best Lawyers in America®, National Law Journal and Texas Monthly. His extensive leadership in the legal industry and bar associations, both locally and nationally, further illustrate his talent, success and passion for the law. Last year, Mateja was selected as a recipient of the Texas Tech University School of Law’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award, in recognition of his significant contributions to the legal profession and the law school program.

Mateja earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Notre Dame.
