Polsinelli Associate Earns Prestigious Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association YLS President’s Award
Polsinelli Associate Emma Schuering
has been named the recipient for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s (KCMBA) Young Lawyers Section (YLS) President’s Award.
The YLS President’s Award is presented annually by the KCMBA to recognize a member for outstanding service to the Young Lawyers Section throughout the year. The Young Lawyers Section provides ready access to the legal community for new lawyers in the early stages of their careers. Schuering serves as Vice Chair of the YLS Membership and New Lawyers Committee and will co-chair the Committee in 2018.
“Emma is passionate about her community and legal career, but also maintaining a happy life,” said Circuit Judge and former Polsinelli shareholder Jennifer Growcock. “Emma is an asset to the bar association and to the legal community, having jumped right into the organization early in her legal career and becoming involved in leadership positions. She is skilled attorney and an integral member of Polsinelli’s Labor and Employment team. She is so deserving of this recognition.”
Schuering joined Polsinelli in May 2014, bringing a strong appellate background to the firm’s Commericial Litigation Practice. She now practices in the Labor and Employment Department, representing employers in a variety of litigation matters involving non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, trade secrets, and individual and class FCRA claims. Schuering also has significant experience advising clients on FCRA compliance in the on-boarding process.
The YLS Award adds to the lengthy list of achievements Schuering has earned throughout her legal career. She participated in the Missouri Bar Leadership Academy, is on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Lawyer Trust Account Foundation, is a former participant in the KCBMA Leadership Academy Program and is a former member of the Executive Committee for the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association.
