Polsinelli Attorney John Barwell Selected as Flinn-Brown Fellow
Polsinelli attorney John Barwell
has been selected for the 2017 cohort of the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy, a flagship program of the nonpartisan Arizona Center for Civic Leadership.
“John is a leader dedicated to making our communities stronger,” said Polsinelli’s Phoenix Office Managing Partner Phillip P. Guttilla
. “His energy and commitment will help advance the mission of the Flinn-Brown Network, which is to encourage civic leadership and improve the quality of life for Arizonans. He will be an outstanding addition to the Academy and we congratulate him on this honor.”
A member of Polsinelli’s Products Liability and Toxic Tort practice, Barwell works closely with corporations and manufacturers defending products liability claims and personal injury lawsuits. He helps resolve business disputes, including contract disputes and claims of breach of fiduciary duty, embezzlement, fraud and misrepresentation.
The Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy is sponsored by the Flinn Foundation and the Thomas R. Brown Foundation to help expand the cadre of Arizonans in state-level civic leadership positions with the knowledge, skills, and commitment to address the state’s critical long-term issues.
A former U.S. Marine, Barwell is committed to leadership and service to others. As a member of Valley Leadership’s Class 37, Barwell helped develop and implement a project directed at increasing early identification and diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders among schoolchildren.
