Polsinelli Principal Randye Soref Selected as Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference
Polsinelli attorney Randye B. Soref
has been selected for a three-year term as a lawyer representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
A 36-year bankruptcy and financial restructuring attorney, Soref will draw on her experience as a federal bar practitioner and work together with judges and attorneys to improve the administration of justice within the Ninth Circuit. Part of her responsibilities, Soref will serve on committees for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference concerning selection of District Court appointed panel mediators, comment on Court Rules and directly interact with judges of the Ninth Circuit, District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts throughout California, Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, and Idaho.
“Randye’s reputation as a highly-respected and knowledgeable bankruptcy attorney is a tribute to her commitment to the administration of justice at the federal level,” said Polsinelli’s Los Angeles Office Managing Partner Noel S. Cohen
. “Her extensive experience and skill at working with practitioners, judges, and administrators to find solutions to complex bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters will serve her well as she works to provide recommendations for the improvement of the courts. We are honored that she will represent the attorneys of the Central District of California.”
Soref plans to work closely with federal bar attorneys and serve as their voice at the conference. She will be responsible for ensuring lawyers’ positions on various topics of concern to the Ninth Circuit and to the federal bar are heard. Resolutions deriving from the conference will impact the Ninth Circuit, which consists of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, 15 U.S. District Courts, and 13 U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in nine western states and the two territories of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Soref routinely represents creditors, committees, sellers, and buyers, advising on bankruptcy strategy, reorganization, enforcement of debt instruments and litigation. She has served as the lead attorney on numerous distressed healthcare matters involving large nationally based hospitals, health plans, health care providers, and skilled nursing facilities.
Soref is the recipient of many distinctions, including ranking in Chambers USA
as a leader in the bankruptcy/restructuring practice area every year since 2011.
