May 8, 2014

Citing his role as Legal Counsel for several nonprofits, the South Metro Denver Chamber selected Polsinelli’s Peter T. Moore as the recipient of its 2014 “Brian Vogt Community Leader of the Year Award.” Moore and other community leaders were honored at the South Metro Denver Chamber’s Annual Awards reception held at Comedy Works South at the Landmark on May 7, 2014. Moore was chosen for his more than 500 hours of volunteer legal services, which include serving as Legal Counsel for the South Denver Metro Chamber and the National Alliance on Mental Illness Colorado. More than 300 people attended the event to honor those who serve their community in an outstanding way.

“We applaud people like Peter Moore in our community,” said South Metro Denver Chamber Interim CEO Marcia McGilley. “He has tirelessly contributed to the economic development of Colorado by serving as Legal Counsel for a number of Colorado businesses and assisting startup companies. In addition, his commitment to the National Alliance on Mental Illness Colorado, as well as many other organizations, makes him an outstanding candidate for this honor. Congratulations Peter.”

“We congratulate our friend and colleague for his commitment to making Denver a better place to live and work,” said Denver Managing Partner Eugene Commander, who attended the awards ceremony. “Peter’s not one to seek recognition for what he does in the business community and it is great to see him honored in this way.”

Moore is a senior partner at Polsinelli and assists clients with corporate and transactional matters. The national law firm is committed to the community and encourages attorneys to participate in pro bono activities. The Denver office of Polsinelli has a long history of community involvement in the Denver Metro area and our staff is committed to the vitality, economic development and sustainability of our business community. Many of our attorneys hold leadership positions and actively participate in civic and industry organizations.

Moore has served on the Board of Directors for the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and Legal Counsel for five years. He has used his leadership skills and legal insight to assist many other nonprofits in Denver including serving as a Board Member and Legal Counsel for Geneva Glen Camp, which is a not-for-profit summer camp in Indian Hills, Colorado.

“I’m humbled to receive this award,” said Moore from his LoDo office. “We don’t volunteer our time for awards and recognitions but when it happens it is deeply rewarding. Thank you.”
