Polsinelli welcomes the addition of Cecelia Carroll to the firm. An experienced associate, Carroll’s practice is dedicated to defending companies involved in complex toxic and mass tort litigation. She joins a national Toxic Tort and Mass Tort Practice that has successfully defended tens of thousands of toxic and mass tort cases.

“Cecelia brings a valuable combination of real-world experience, as well as academic excellence, to her role advising clients at Polsinelli,” said Dennis J. Dobbels, chairman of the firm’s Toxic and Mass Tort Practice. “She will be a key part of our continued growth in this practice area. I look forward to seeing her develop as an attorney and a leader within our firm.”

Named as national and regional defense counsel because of their integrity and insight, Polsinelli’s attorneys have coordinated and mounted significant defense efforts involving exposures to asbestos, benzene, mold, perchloroethylene, and other medical and mineral products. Polsinelli’s attorneys have also successfully defended medical disease claims from these exposures.

“I chose Polsinelli because of the firm’s reputation for providing clients with exceptional, practical legal guidance and its collegial, collaborative work environment,” Carroll said.

Carroll graduated from Trinity University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While a student at Trinity, she played volleyball and was awarded the William N. Wasson Student Leadership and Academic Award by the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA). In addition she was a merit scholar, as well as president of Sigma Theta Tau sorority. Carroll completed courses at the Institute for the International Education of Students in Madrid, Spain in the fall of 2002.

Carroll earned her law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law where she served as editor of the St. Louis University Law Journal from 2008 to 2009. She was also a first year student mentor and faculty fellow, as well as a member of the public interest law group. In addition, she served as a student extern for the Honorable Audrey Fleissig at the U.S. District Court of Eastern District of Missouri. After graduation in 2009, Carroll was a law clerk for the Honorable Nannette Baker at the Missouri Court of Appeals and was awarded Guardian Ad Litem Certification in 2010.

She is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Carroll is also a member of Lawyers for Equality and actively volunteers for PROMO, an organization dedicated to the belief that equality and personal liberty can be a reality through ongoing, systematic grassroots community organizing. She was a member of the planning committee for PROMO’s 2012 and 2013 Urbanaire galas.

When not in the office, Carroll is an avid athlete enjoying cycling, swimming, and running, as well as spending time with family and friends. She is a resident of the South Hampton neighborhood in St. Louis City.

The addition of Carroll occurs during a particularly exciting period of growth for Polsinelli. The firm was recently named the “fastest growing law firm in America” during a five-year period according to The American Lawyer. Polsinelli moved up to 69th from 78th according to a ranking of the largest law firms published in The National Law Journal. The firm was featured in the June issue of The American Lawyer. In 2013, the firm added 104 attorneys to help meet the needs of clients and added an office in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
