Polsinelli is partnering with the German American Chamber of Commerce to host a preview show of the Hannover Messe Trade Fair. The preview event will take place Dec. 7 from 2-4 p.m. at the firm’s Kansas City headquarters, 900 W. 48th St., to help build awareness of the opportunities the Messe provides for U.S. business. Kansas City has a sister city in Hannover, Germany.

Held annually in Hannover, Germany, the Hannover Messe is the world’s biggest industrial fair, featuring approximately 6,500 exhibitors, 250,000 attendees and 2,400 media members. The Messe has a partner country each year, and this year – for the first time – it will be the United States.

“We’re honored to help create awareness of the Hannover Messe Trade Fair in Germany next spring,” said Alan Claus Anderson, Vice Chair of Polsinelli’s National Energy Practice. “Germany is one of the industrial tech leaders of the world and we look forward to the potential for international collaboration between German companies and the U.S.”

The Hannover Messe is traditionally opened annually by the acting German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, as well as the head of state of the partner country – in this case President Barack Obama. The White House highlighted the Hannover Messe as part of its effort to enhance transatlantic partnerships and international investment.

A primary focus for the Hannover Messe is relationship building, with representatives from companies across the world and the partner country discussing opportunities in the United States or elsewhere. Anderson and shareholder J. Britton Gibson will be attending the 2016 Messe (April 25-29) and are available to help Polsinelli clients in their efforts surrounding the fair.

Several leading organizations for economic development will be participating in the Messe, including the Federal Department of Commerce, the U.S. Commercial Service, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, SelectUSA, the U.S. Embassy in Germany and the National Association of Manufacturers. Regional and local organizations include the Kansas Department of Commerce, Kansas City Area Development Council and the Missouri Partnership.
