National law firm Polsinelli welcomes Michael C. Grubbs to the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice as an associate. Grubbs brings both traditional employment and labor experience to Polsinelli representing employers at National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) unfair labor practice proceedings and in federal court. He also advises employers in all aspects of management-side employment law, including discrimination, harassment, and wrongful discharge litigation.

“Michael is a terrific addition to our growing firm and his experience will add further depth to our labor and employment presence in Phoenix and nationally,” said Labor and Employment Chair W. Terrence Kilroy.

Grubbs joins more than three dozen attorneys who focus on a variety of complex labor and employment matters which impact employers nationwide. The attorneys are highly recognized in their field, experienced and offer practical legal guidance for better business decisions.

“I look forward to expanding my practice and working with attorneys who are committed to understanding their clients’ business and are proactive with their legal solutions,” said Grubbs. “I’m very excited to be at Polsinelli.”

Grubbs focuses on advising employers to help them avoid litigation. When litigation does arise, Grubbs has experience with federal and state court litigation involving employment-related issues including Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, and ADA. In addition to practicing, Grubbs dedicates a portion of his time to speaking to human resources personnel and business owners on employment law matters including conducting internal investigations, the hiring process and how to avoid employment litigation.

Grubbs was recently recognized in Southwest Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Employment and Labor law. He is a member of the Phoenix Green Chamber of Commerce and volunteers his time to organizations that support research, diagnosis, and improved quality of life for people with muscular dystrophy and autism. Grubbs earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Utah State University and his J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.

Phoenix is one of the firm’s key cities which include Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Kansas City, New York, St. Louis and Washington, D.C. The American Lawyer Magazine featured Polsinelli in its June 2013 issue and recognized it as the fastest-growing law firm in America over the past five years. This year, the firm moved up to the 69th position from 78th in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms.

Grubbs is a good source for reporters working on stories about:

  • Title VII, including racial discrimination and sexual harassment claims
  • Family Medical Leave Act
  • Collective Bargaining and Union Issues
  • Americans with Disabilities Act
