Polsinelli Associate Mishelle Martinez Honored with Volunteer Pro Bono Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association
Polsinelli is proud to announce that Associate Mishelle S. Martinez has been selected to receive the 2017 Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Project Award.
The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) presents the award annually to individual attorneys or law firms who, through their work with Legal Aid of Western Missouri's Volunteer Attorney Project (VAP), have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the delivery of pro bono legal services in the Kansas City community.
As a VAP participant, Martinez has donated more than 100 hours of legal services annually to residents of the Kansas City metro area.
“Mishelle is a star in our practice group and in our firm in terms of her service to our clients and it is so great to see her extend that same energy and passion to pro bono work and in bettering our Kansas City community,” said Eddie James, Vice Chair of Polsinelli’s Construction and Energy Litigation practice. “Mishelle’s generosity and work ethic go well beyond our firm’s expectations, and she is one of the best reflections of our firm’s core values.”
Martinez, along with other attorneys, will be recognized Thursday, May 18, 2017 at an awards dinner in Branson, Mo., as part of the annual KCMBA Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference, which runs May 17-19.
Martinez is a member of Polsinelli’s national Construction and Energy Litigation Practice Group, where she works with clients in the construction, energy and real estate industries to develop complex legal and business strategies when resolving disputes. Martinez is a graduate of The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, earning her J.D. while also serving as Associate Managing Editor of the Missouri Law Review.
