Polsinelli congratulates shareholder P. John Brady for his selection as 2013-2014 President of The Missouri Bar and shareholder Lauren E. Tucker McCubbin for her election to the Bar’s Board of Governors. Both attorneys begin their terms of office at the close of the association’s annual meeting in Columbia, Mo., September 20.

“Jack and Lauren’s dedication to Missouri Bar leadership is a reflection of Polsinelli’s overall commitment to enhancing the law profession which ultimately benefits the community as a whole,” said Polsinelli Chairman Russ Welsh.

Polsinelli has a long history of serving the state and local bar associations in many of the firm’s markets. Three Polsinelli senior partners – Doreen D. Dodson of St. Louis and Jennifer Gille Bacon and John S. Black, both of Kansas City – have previously served as president of The Missouri Bar. Dodson was the first woman to serve as the Bar’s president.

“Being selected as president of the Missouri Bar is an honor, but it’s a job that also carries tremendous responsibility. I have a profound respect for the law profession and I welcome the opportunity to give back to a profession that has served me well,” Brady said.

“I am very pleased and honored to serve with other accomplished law professionals in the governance of our state Bar,” said McCubbin, who will serve a two-year term on the Bar’s policy-making body. “I look forward to the opportunity to provide guidance to the Bar on matters of importance to our profession.”

Brady serves as Polsinelli’s Antitrust Practice chair and represents both individuals and corporations, both as plaintiffs and defendants. His experience on either side of the courtroom provides a diverse perspective and valuable insight into his opponents’ trial strategy, which allows for successful and efficient resolutions.

His successful business litigation trial experience includes cases involving class action, breach of warranty, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, director and officer liability, fraud, tortious interference, antitrust, accounting malpractice, lender liability, product liability, adversary bankruptcy proceedings, and insurance bad faith litigation. His successful tort litigation trial experience includes cases involving product defects of farm implements, auto crashworthiness, medical devices, and construction machinery. He also has experience in matters involving negligence in auto/truck collisions, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and hotel security and premises liability. Brady has regularly been selected for inclusion in the Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers (Business Litigation) since 2005, as well as for The Best Lawyers in America® 2007-2014.

McCubbin practice is concentrated on insurance recovery counseling and litigation in connection with all types of insurance. She also represents the firm’s business, financial, and health care clients in complex commercial litigation, including class actions and multidistrict litigation, from inception through resolution. Her courtroom experience includes representing clients in hearings on temporary and permanent injunctive relief and class certification, in bench and jury trials, and oral arguments on pre-trial and dispositive motions before trial courts and oral arguments at the appellate court level.

The American Lawyer Magazine featured Polsinelli in its June 2013 issue and recognized it as the fastest-growing law firm in America over the past five years. This year, the firm moved up to the 69th position from 78th in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms.
