Startup Ventures Practice Group Invests in St. Louis’ Ecosystem
Polsinelli is continuing its support of the St. Louis startup community this weekend as a major sponsor of the Murmuration Festival, which kicks off tonight at the Cortex Innovation Community
. The national law firm will also present the Innovative Showcase Saturday and Sunday.
“Our commitment to the startup ecosystem is deep and far reaching,” said Tim McFadden, a shareholder in Polsinelli’s Corporate and Transactional Practice Group. “When we hear of a great project, we get involved. We were contacted by Murmuration early and jumped right in.”
A steadfast partner of the entrepreneurial community, the firm has invested in virtually every startup community organization in the St. Louis area by providing advice, sponsorships, and in-kind and pro bono services. Some of Polsinelli’s work includes helping startup and emerging growth companies with formation and capital structure, licensing relationships, and creating financing and strategic partnerships.
The Murmuration Festival is billed as the convergence of art, music, science and technology. By sponsoring the festival’s’ Innovation Showcase, Polsinelli is bringing together dozens of organizations that help entrepreneurs grow their ideas into businesses in St. Louis, including Arch Grants, BioGenerator, Center for Emerging Technologies, CIC, Cortex, EQ, GlabalHack, GatewayVMS, ITe – UMSL, ITEN, Prosper Women Entrepreneurs, Stadia Ventures, TechArtista, T-Rex, Venture Café St. Louis, Washington University, and others.
“To sponsor the St. Louis Innovation Showcase was a natural fit for us,” said Polsinelli Shareholder Paul Klug
. “This is a collective community, and we have our hands involved in all of it. This weekend will be a true showcase of our city’s startups. More than 30 entrepreneurs will be on hand to showcase their technologies that are changing the way we live, work and play.”
Polsinelli is an Am Law 100 law firm with 20 offices coast to coast. More than 200 employees, including 108 attorneys, are based in the firm’s St. Louis office. The Innovative Showcase is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. It is free and open to the public.
