Firm makes home in one of Midtown’s “trophy” buildings

Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm, announced today it moved its Atlanta office to the third largest building in Atlanta at One Atlantic Center, 1201 W. Peachtree St. NW in Midtown.

The move is due to the growth of the office, driven by an increase in demand by national and local clients with legal needs in areas of labor and employment, health care, real estate, and white collar and internal investigations. Polsinelli opened its Atlanta office in 2014 with a focus on labor and employment and litigation matters.

With the largest block of office space dwindling in the Midtown Atlanta area, Polsinelli took advantage of the strong activity to secure premier space and signed a 15-year lease with Hines for two full floors (45,000 RSF). Polsinelli’s national real estate broker, Tom Tunnicliff, of Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago, and John O’Neill in Atlanta negotiated the deal. Internationally-known Johnson/Burgee Architects designed the iconic tower built in 1987, which features Spanish Rosa Porrino granite and the familiar pyramid-shaped copper roof. Polsinelli occupies floors 10 and 11 of the 50-story structure.

“We have nearly tripled in size since opening our office in Atlanta in early 2014,” said Polsinelli’s Chairman Russ Welsh. “Our new office will allow us to continue to grow to serve our Atlanta area clients’ business challenges and opportunities. Our growth in Atlanta is fueled by both quality hires and organic growth in our existing practices with lawyers who share the firm’s core values and appreciate its distinctive culture.”

The Atlanta office represents clients including:
  • Hospitals and health care systems
  • Real estate developers and financiers
  • National retailers
  • Automotive manufacturers
  • Internal consumer products manufacturers
  • Pharmaceutical companies
Polsinelli worked with HOK on the interior design and selected Humphries & Company, LLC as general contractor. The interior design is similar to the sleek, contemporary and open style office space the law firm recently built for its new offices in Dallas, Washington D.C. and New York City. The space plan accommodates for 65 attorney offices, a central staircase, multipurpose room and generous conference space.

Polsinelli has more than 800 attorneys in 19 offices coast to coast, serving corporations, institutions and entrepreneurs nationally, having depth of experience in 100 service areas across 70 industries. Since 2010, Polsinelli’s overall attorney headcount is up 74 percent and revenue growth is up 145 percent.

“This move was necessitated by the significant growth the office has realized just in the past two years,” said Nancy Rafuse, Office Managing Partner of Polsinelli’s Atlanta Office. “This new space will provide a great work environment for current and future staff.”
