Polsinelli welcomes Paul Cicchetti, as a shareholder, and Marina Raynes, an associate, to the firm’s Real Estate Finance practice. Both attorneys will be based and operate out of the New York City office. Cicchetti brings decades of experience in the origination and workout of mortgage and mezzanine lending for portfolio lenders, including life insurance companies and banks, as well as for securitized CMBS (Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities) lenders and their special servicers. Raynes is particularly well versed in the representation of lenders, including banks, life insurance companies, securitized CMBS lenders and their special servicers, in matters concerning mortgage and mezzanine financing, permanent and construction lending and loan workouts and restructuring. Both previously practiced at AmLaw 100 firms.

“With the addition of Paul and Marina, we now have six real estate finance attorneys in our New York office and 35 nationally,” said Dan Flanigan, chair of Polsinelli’s Real Estate and Financial Services Department and managing partner of the New York office of Polsinelli. “And we are especially happy that Paul and Marina will bring us significant additional relationships not only with CMBS lenders but with life insurance companies, New York banks, and other portfolio lender clients. We’ll have additional announcements like these coming up.”

Cicchetti has more than 25 years of experience including portfolio and CMBS lending. Cicchetti also advises on matters related to loan participations and intercreditor agreements, structured financing, loan servicing, workouts and foreclosures, and the disposition and acquisition of real estate projects. He has handled all aspects of financings, acquisitions, dispositions and development on major transactions involving commercial, retail, hotel, office, and residential and mixed-use real estate projects.

“I’m excited to see what we here at Polsinelli can accomplish in the coming months and years,” said Cicchetti. “Polsinelli has seen impressive growth in the last six years, in a very organic fashion, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the next few years as well as providing excellent service for our clients.”

Cicchetti earned his law degree from Fordham University in 1983 and his bachelor's degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1977. He serves on the board of directors of the Center of Hope for Haiti and The Long Island Family Church. Raynes earned her law degree from St. Johns University School of Law in 2012 and her bachelor’s from McGill University in 2006.

The American Lawyer Magazine in its June 2013 issue recognized Polsinelli as the fastest-growing law firm in America.* Recently the firm moved up to the #93 position in the AmLaw 100. In 2013, the firm moved up to the 69th position in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms. New York has been part of that growth. Newly expanded and relocated in 2013, Polsinelli attorneys work in financial services, real estate finance, and other commercial real estate, bankruptcy, and intellectual property litigation, offering the experience and insight clients need to keep pace with ever-changing markets.
