National law firm Polsinelli welcomes Rita D’Agostino to the firm’s Real Estate Development/Transactions Practice as counsel in the Overland Park, KS., office. D’Agostino has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate and will focus her practice on transactions, leasing and development, as well as related finance, risk management, property management, construction and design issues.
“Rita is a terrific addition to our national real estate practice and expands our capabilities because of her experience and track record as general counsel to the national commercial real estate firm RED Development,” said Real Estate Division Chair John D. Petersen.
D’Agostino is a creative problem solver grounded in practical business solutions. As former in-house counsel, she not only understands the legal difficulties of complex real estate transactions, but appreciates the broader context in which her clients must operate and succeed. Prior to joining RED Development, D’Agostino served three years as a real estate attorney with Polsinelli and seven years in Denver area law firms, representing small and large landlords, tenants, franchisees, developers and lenders in all industry classes, including retail, office, industrial and multi-family.
“I consider myself a strategic-minded problem solver of complex real estate problems. One of the reasons I practice real estate law is that I enjoy maneuvering through the development maze toward a well-defined, practical goal,” she said. “I love having returned to Polsinelli and being able to work alongside of some of the most respected real estate development and transaction attorneys in the country.”
D’Agostino’s return to Polsinelli occurs during an exciting period of overall growth for the firm, which has seen its national footprint expand to 11 states and 18 cities. Polsinelli was recently recognized as the fastest-growing law firm in America during 2008 to 2012 by The American Lawyer. This year, the firm moved up to the 69th position from 78th in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms. The American Lawyer Magazine featured Polsinelli in its June 2013 issue. The firm is ranked in the Am Law 100.
D’Agostino earned her law degree in 1984 from Creighton University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1982 from Creighton University. She is a member of the Kansas, Missouri and Colorado (inactive) Bars.
