Polsinelli welcomes attorney Scott R. Thein as an associate for the firm’s growing national Capital Markets practice. Having worked as in-house counsel for several public companies, Thein has experience in resolving a wide range of business and legal issues and will focus his practice on the securitization of commercial loans and other structured finance transactions.

“After working in-house, I wanted to shift course and practice within a law firm with national resources like Polsinelli,” stated Thein. “The firm offers an outstanding opportunity to develop my own practice while working alongside some of the top attorneys in the legal profession who are business-minded and understand their clients’ needs.”

Most recently, Thein worked in-house for a registered Swap Dealer, providing him unique insight into the over-the-counter derivatives market during a time of fundamental regulatory change. His experience in multiple industries and regulatory environments has refined his ability to offer straightforward and actionable counsel regarding his clients’ most complex and material challenges.

Thein earned his law degree, magna cum laude, in 2006 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law where he served as a staff member for the UMKC Law Review. He earned a B.A. degree with honors in 2003 from the University of Kansas. Thein is a member of the Missouri Bar Association.

The addition of Thein occurs during an exciting period of overall growth for Polsinelli, which has seen its national footprint expand to 11 states and 18 cities. Polsinelli was recently recognized as the fastest-growing law firm in America during 2008 to 2012 by The American Lawyer. This year, the firm moved up to the 69th position from 78th in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms. The American Lawyer Magazine featured Polsinelli in its June 2013 issue.
