Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm, announced today Stacy Stotts joined its Environmental and Natural Resources Practice, which provides representation and wealth of experience in all areas of environmental and natural resources law.
Stotts has a wide variety of experience in representing clients in environmental regulatory and administrative matters, enforcement matters, private party suits, compliance counseling, and corporate and property transactions. She has represented clients in the areas of air, water, superfund and hazardous waste law. Her work also includes assisting clients in commenting on proposed agency rulemakings.

Stotts works with the mining industry, electric utility industry, transportation industry, agribusiness, manufacturing companies, chemical companies, and oil and gas companies. She has significant background in representing clients regarding compliance and enforcement matters related to the New Source Review, Hazardous Air Pollutant (MACT), and New Source Performance Standard programs under the Clean Air Act. She has particular focus on assisting clients with emerging GHG Air Regulations promulgated under President Obama’s Climate Change Policy.

Stotts is a member of the board of several organizations, including the Midwest Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association, Midwest Chapter of the Energy Bar Association, Kansas City Young Audiences and Brookwood Education Foundation. She is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Section on Energy and Environment, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Kansas City Chamber Air Quality Committee.
Stotts also has taught environmental law at the University of Missouri – Kansas City as an adjunct professor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in environmental studies at the University of Kansas. She earned her juris doctor degree and Environmental Law Certificate at Chicago-Kent College of Law, and her master’s of law degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark Law School.
She has received numerous recognitions, including been named one of The Best Lawyers in America for Environmental Law in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by Best Lawyers. In addition, she has been recognized in the Chambers USA list of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Environmental Law since 2009.
