National law firm Polsinelli welcomes William P. Hoffman as an associate to the firm’s Health Care Practice, ranked by both Modern Healthcare and The American Health Lawyers Association as the fourth largest in the nation. Hoffman, who will assist clients with regulatory matters, joins a national practice stretching from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. He brings a diverse background, having served as an adjunct professor at St. Louis University School of Law teaching health care fraud and abuse and a health policy speechwriter for candidates for elected office.

“Studying health care policy and health care fraud and abuse in an academic environment made me eager to help providers find creative solutions to problems created by complex and onerous government regulation. My experiences made me passionate about enabling health care providers to focus on what really matters – providing quality care to patients,” Hoffman said.

“The opportunity to join Polsinelli, with its industry reputation, rapidly expanding Health Care Practice, and diverse national client base, is the exact type of career challenge I have been seeking. I look forward to working with business-minded attorneys who offer practical legal advice for clients during these complex times.”

The firm’s commitment to the healthcare industry and its clients is further demonstrated with the recent addition of Polsinelli attorneys David Cade, who most recently served at the Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Kristen Rosati, who serves as the current president of AHLA, the nation’s largest educational organization devoted to legal issues in the healthcare field.

“These are very challenging times in healthcare and Bill is part of an up and coming group of attorneys who understand this rapidly evolving industry and the complex challenges that our clients are facing,” said Health Care Chair Matt Murer. “We are very glad to have him join our growing practice and firm.”

Hoffman is a 2006 graduate of the University of Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Honors Society and the Dean’s list most semesters. Hoffman earned his law degree, cum laude, with a Health Law Certificate, from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2010 and was inducted into the Order of the Woolsack, an honor reserved for those graduating in the top 10 percent of their class. Hoffman was also the recipient of a Dean’s Honors Scholarship and Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit honors while in law school.

Hoffman is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and Health Care Compliance Association. He continues to enjoy his role as an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University School of Law teaching health care fraud and abuse.

The American Lawyer Magazine featured Polsinelli in its June 2013 issue and recognized it as the fastest-growing law firm in America over the past five years. This year, the firm moved up to the 69th position from 78th in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms.
