KC Chamber Public Policy Up Close Speaker Series

Wednesday, September 4
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Polsinelli and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce cordially invite you to join us for the next event in our Public Policy Up Close Speaker Series: Small Town/Big Cities: Why Big Cities Are Thriving.

As the U.S. moves well into the 21st century, the gap between small towns and big cities grows ever wider. Large cities continue to thrive while small towns often lag behind. Data shows bigger cities are more productive, have more opportunities, and draw a larger workforce at higher wages. As this trend continues, how do we ensure cities like Kansas City grow healthily without falling prey to the typical growing pains (poverty, congestion, homelessness, crime)?

Jordan Rappaport, Kansas City Federal Reserve senior economist and author on urban and regional growth and development, will discuss why big cities are thriving and smaller towns are declining and how cities can prepare for future economic growth in our rapidly changing world.
