Three attorneys from Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli have been named to Lawyers of Color’s inaugural “Nation’s Best” list. Honored for their accomplishments and commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession are Polsinelli Shareholders Dan Cranshaw and Quentin Jennings, both based in Kansas City, Mo., and Shareholder Jean Marie R. Pechette, based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Cranshaw is a commercial litigator who serves as Chair of Polsinelli’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
“Polsinelli is committed to ensuring a diverse workplace through focused and intentional efforts in our knowledge expansion, professional leadership development, recruiting and retention, and community outreach,” said Cranshaw. “We are pleased our firm’s sustained commitment to diversity and inclusion, and specifically, the actions of my colleagues Quentin Jennings and Jean Marie Pechette, are being recognized in this meaningful way.”
Jennings, a corporate and transactional attorney, has put muscle behind diversity and inclusion not only in the legal profession, but also within his community.
“I set out long ago to be the change I wanted to see,” said Jennings. “I’ve enjoyed mentoring minority business owners, being involved in youth development programming and recruiting future colleagues. I am humbled to be honored by Lawyers of Color.”
Pechette has more than 20 years of experience in information technology, privacy and intellectual property law, with a focus on the health care and life sciences industries. She is considered a thought leader in health care innovation and digitization matters such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing and IoMT and also a leader in firm and industry diversity initiatives. She is a past president of the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago, Co-chair and founding Chair of the Healthcare Technology Committee of the Science and Technology Section of the American Bar Association, and was recently appointed to the Board of Visitors of Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
“While I recognize that we still have more work to do, I am proud of the strides taken and those that continue to be taken by Polsinelli and the legal profession overall in recent years, to enhance diversity and inclusion,” said Pechette. “I appreciate how Lawyers of Color is advancing these efforts through recognition programs like this one. I would like to offer my gratitude to all in our profession who give of themselves to ensure there are more opportunities for professionals from diverse backgrounds.”
