Brisa Izaguirre's diligence and strong work ethic make her a valuable asset to the firm’s commercial litigation client teams.
Since joining the firm, Brisa has worked on numerous complex commercial litigation suits, with particular focus on discovery and the issues surrounding electronic discovery. To that end, she has contributed thought leadership to the American Bar Association's Commercial and Business Litigation Committee on changing regulations regarding e-discovery and the preservation of electronically stored information (ESI), and currently serves as co-chair of that group's Diversity Initiatives subcommittee and co-chair of its Social Media subcommittee.
Brisa also serves on the board of directors of a local non-profit organization, which, among other things, collaborates with medical schools in the Kansas City area to provide educational outreach programs in the community. She has also completed research and client alerts on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the ongoing evolution of consumer protection claims.
Brisa is dedicated to understanding challenges from the client’s perspective so that she may contribute to developing litigation strategies that compliment their broader business objectives. Brisa is committed to providing clients with efficient and effective representation that is informed not only by her experience with the firm, but also by her research and critical thinking experience gained at the University of Kansas School of Law. During law school, Brisa also served as academic chair of the Hispanic American Law Students Association and as a member of the Kansas Law Review.
