Corey Casey brings his clinical and technical experience as a Doctor of Pharmacy and Registered Pharmacist to provide a real-world perspective in his practice as a patent attorney. A member of Polsinelli’s Science and Technology group, he practices in the areas of patent litigation and patent opinions, patent preparation and prosecution and intellectual property review and due diligence. He has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical arts. 

Corey assists clients in managing the procurement and enforcement of domestic and international patent and trademark portfolios. He has extensive experience preparing freedom to operate, non-infringement and invalidity opinions for patent matters, as well as the development of design around product specifications. He works with clients providing guidance and assistance navigating the FDA approval process for new drug products. In addition, Corey has experience with due diligence assessments for potential investments, including review and valuation of IP estates. Corey takes a unique approach focused on an objective assessment of the portfolio, as well as the development of strategies to address any IP issues post-investment.

Corey has considerable experience with Hatch-Waxman patent infringement cases, representing both brand and generic companies. Corey’s experience focuses on the development of litigation strategy, both pre-litigation and through the active litigation process.
