Jeanie Botkin developed an excellent understanding of the insurance industry from a business perspective when she served as vice president of a managed care company. As a result, Jeanie is able to quickly get to the root of an issue and brainstorm possible solutions so that the company is able to move forward with its business objective.

Jeanie has dedicated her career to compliance and transactional work in the insurance industry. She has been involved in all aspects of an insurer's operations. Her experience includes assisting insurance companies with holding company laws including filing requirements related to affiliated transactions, acquisitions and registration statements; redomestications; licensing; unfair business practices; claims payment; advice and assistance on coverage issues; provider networks; and surplus and excess lines insurance. She has also worked with insurance departments on behalf of regulated entities with respect to various issues including consumer complaints, market conduct and financial exams; and product filings.

Besides insurers, Jeanie has represented many other entities regulated by insurance departments including third-party administrators, managing general agents, agencies, producers, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, vehicle service companies, adjusters, surplus lines insurers, and captives.

Along with regulatory and compliance issues, Jeanie has extensive experience in transactional work involving companies regulated by insurance departments. Such work includes drafting agreements, as well as working with regulators to obtain approval of various transactions including acquisitions and mergers and related agreements.

Exciting developments in the captive industry have been her recent focus. The opportunities presented by the competition among states present great opportunities for captive business.

Health care reform and the Affordable Care Act have also been areas of great interest for Jeanie. The ongoing development of state and federal regulation is challenging for all who are affected by health care reform. Jeanie has dedicated herself to keeping up to date on the latest developments and how they affect the insurance industry.
