Libby’s strong advocacy skills, strategic and analytical abilities, and business acumen make her a valuable asset to the firm’s litigation team. Libby is dedicated to developing outcome-driven litigation strategies that are aligned with her clients’ business goals. She takes pride in partnering with clients to achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside of the courtroom.

Libby’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation involving breaches of contract, business torts, class actions, antitrust claims, and intellectual property issues. Her clients include companies of all sizes and ranges of industries, including sports, healthcare, technology, telecommunications, financial services, and manufacturing, among others. Libby assists clients with all stages of business disputes and methods of dispute resolution. Libby also assists clients in developing litigation avoidance and risk management strategies tailored to their specific business needs and objectives.

Libby earned her J.D. from Columbia University, where she was named a James Kent Scholar and Tony Patiño Fellow and won two Richard R. Baxter Awards for her team’s world championship-winning memorials at the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court competition.

  • Serving as trial counsel for a national telecom carrier in defense of a $500 million breach of contract action.
  • Authored successful dispositive motion and managed complex discovery on behalf of one of the U.S.’s largest healthcare systems in prosecution of $200 million breach of contract dispute.
  • Served on case team and managed trial preparation activities in successful defense of major hospital chain against highly-publicized allegations of anticompetitive conduct.
  • Authored successful dispositive motion in prosecution of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and misappropriation of trade secret claims on behalf of a bankruptcy trustee in federal district court. 
  • Secured dismissal of case involving claims of fraudulent concealment and breach of fiduciary duty for Fortune 100 corporation in federal appellate court.
  • Obtained complete victory on behalf of organization in multimillion-dollar tax appeal before a state tax commission.
  • Successfully appealed class action judgment against one of the U.S.’s largest sports organizations over allegations of tortious conduct.
  • Successfully defended two international manufacturing companies against multimillion-dollar breach of contract and tort claims.
  • Served as second chair trial counsel in successful defense of two complex criminal felony charges.
  • Co-authored successful dispositive motion in defense of a technology company against breach of fiduciary duty claims in the Delaware Court of Chancery. 
  • Assisted in successful appeal of a class certification decision in a high-value multi-district litigation centering on price fixing in natural gas markets in federal appellate court.
  • Successfully secured writ of habeas corpus and declaratory injunctive relief for client in nationally-recognized unlawful detention case in federal district court.
  • Authored brief for national telecommunications carrier to favorably posture case concerning fraudulent trafficking of wireless handsets for favorable settlement.
