Laila advises clients on intellectual property law, with a focus on the selection and protection of trademarks, service marks and trade dress domestically and internationally. As a trusted advisor to clients, she assists clients in obtaining federal trademark registrations for a variety of marks, including non-traditional trademarks, such as colors.

Laila has represented numerous clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal board and has experience with Uniform Domain-Name-Dispute-Resolution proceedings and due diligence for intellectual property matters in corporate transactions. Laila is committed to understanding the complex industries in which clients operate and developing strategies for monitoring and enforcing trademark portfolios.

  • Successfully defended a nutrition supplement company in a cancellation proceeding where the client was able to maintain its U.S. registration which is the centerpiece of its trademark portfolio.
  • Initiated numerous successful UDRP proceedings and, as a result, clients were able to secure domain names that were registered by third parties and incorporated the client’s trademarks.
  • Strategically advised a craft beer brewing company as its expanded its brand portfolio to three times its original size.
