Margie Aoki collaborates with clients to develop the most sensible intellectual property strategy for their business. She works closely with inventors to craft robust utility and design patent applications that highlight the client’s innovation. During examination of the patent application, she encourages open communication with the Patent Examiner to find a most efficient path toward allowance.

Margie also has extensive experience in freedom-to-operate and validity opinions, design-around strategies and due diligence for portfolio acquisitions. She uses a pragmatic approach to review third party patent assets and provide a deliverable that compliments the business considerations of the client.

Leveraging her prior experience as a mechanical systems engineer at a multinational technology company, Margie advises clients on technologies related to medical devices, heavy duty vehicles, tools, high-pressure fluid analytic systems, alternative and clean energy, cosmetic devices, pharmaceutical dispensing, cable connection and repair systems, spacecraft systems, food processing equipment, automotive repair equipment and consumer products.
