Matthew S. O’Brien focuses his practice on products liability and toxic and mass tort matters. He commonly works on matters involving chemicals such as asbestos, benzene, beryllium, perchloroethylene, solvents and talc. Matthew has experience implementing litigation strategies for multiple substance exposure dockets comprising numerous cases.

Matthew has overseen and implemented multi-docket and multi-jurisdictional discovery systems. He assisted in developing and implementing discovery protocols for a Fortune 100 company’s legacy dockets that spanned multiple states and jurisdictions. He has also led e-discovery efforts for a governmental agency. By leveraging his experience and technology, he has provided his clients with efficient, cost-effective discovery systems designed to meet both his clients’ needs and the applicable jurisdictions’ discovery requirements.

With a commitment to provide sound legal advice, Matthew works closely with Polsinelli attorneys to successfully defend complex product liability and high-risk toxic tort matters. He leverages his prior experience serving as an extern for the Los Angeles Superior Court and an intern for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
