Markian B. Silecky is a multinational qualified attorney, admitted to practice in New Jersey. In truly understanding a client’s business, Markian is said to act as an “external International General Counsel” to his clients. Markian counsels clients in matters throughout Europe, Ukraine, Japan, Nigeria, Chile, Australia, Canada, South Korea and Russia. His practice focuses primarily on general corporate law, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, data privacy and international transactions.

Markian represents international corporations across various industries including agriculture, pharmaceutical/CRO, aerospace and alcoholic beverages and a number of Fortune 100 companies. Focused on the issues, problems and goals of each given country and market, Markian works with each client to find the solutions and attain the client’s goals. He not only has the global commercial experience, but also has experience working with various State Agencies, and has represented various Embassies and various diplomats in their relations with Ukraine.

  • Advising across various sectors in multiple jurisdictions regarding Foreign Corruption (FCPA/UK Anti-bribery) and Data Privacy (Privacy Shield/GDPR) issues.
  • Representing both U.S. and Canadian alcoholic beverage distributor with Ukrainian vodka production issues and new market/distribution entries into the U.S., Central America and China.
  • Advising a U.S. based multinational grain trading company regarding its US$70 million joint venture investment into a grain terminal in Ukraine and its US$45 million investment into a grain terminal in Romania.
  • Advising a U.K. based international real estate developer on a US$200 million land acquisition and development.
  • Representing a U.S. based investment fun in its acquisitions and divestitures of numerous Ukrainian companies.
  • Representing a number of U.S. based Clinical Research Organization in multiple (20+) jurisdictions regarding all aspects of counseling, i.e. clinical trial contracts, HR, entity establishment, real estate.
  • Representing both Ukrainian and U.S. entities regarding the licensing and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ongoing representation of an international transport agency in its Ukrainian operations and regulatory issues.
  • Advising Norwegian and Canadian entities on their acquisition of oil and gas exploration and production licenses.
  • Representing a major Ukrainian software developer in its expansion into foreign markets.
  • Counselling a foreign underwriter in IPO of Ukrainian company on the London Stock Exchange.
  • Advising an international developer of internet gaming technologies regarding the development and US$100 million licensing of a MMORPG (Massive Multi-Play Online Role Playing Game).
