As an Attorney in the Intellectual Property practice, Miya Yusa works with seasoned Polsinelli attorneys in serving our clients’ full range of IP needs and is dedicated to helping them tackle and solve issues related to the establishment and protection of their intellectual property.

Miya focuses her litigation practice on trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes. Her trademark and copyright litigation experience includes matters involving a global manufacturer of enterprise software that involved claims of piracy and counterfeiting that stretched from East Asia to the United States. The litigation was related to claims eventually brought by the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a worldwide software counterfeiting scheme. Miya has also been involved in trade secret cases at the state level involving misappropriation of company business model data, market research, and core technological designs as well as at the federal level in matters involving misappropriation of customer and vendor data as well as proprietary analytics and modeling information and involving computer forensics to retrieve evidence of the same. In addition to her litigation practice, she maintains a heavy docket of trademark prosecution that covers technologies including tracking and logistics, wireless communications, pattern recognition, certification of onsite security data, and network security and traffic management. Miya manages trademark portfolios both in the United States and around the world. She is also involved in monitoring and issuing necessary takedown notices as they relate to various social media platforms and the improper utilization or attribution of original user content. Miya has assisted in patent disputes before the International Trade Commission as well as part of antitrust claims for patent misuse.

Her goal is to protect client assets through:

  • Trademarks
  • Copyrights

  • Licensing agreements
  • Privacy policies
