Rebecca Horton is an associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation practice. She is committed to understanding the industry in which her clients operate. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation involving commercial disputes arising from intellectual property infringement and business torts.  

Rebecca has successful represented clients in civil action matters, including:

  • Copyright and trademark infringement
  • Misappropriation of trade secrets
  • Unfair competition and breach of contract
  • Breach of fiduciary duty

Prior to joining Polsinelli, Rebecca worked at a boutique litigation firm handling commercial disputes on behalf of food and beverage companies and financial firms. Prior, Rebecca served as Deputy County Counsel in San Mateo County, where she successfully defended over 25 court and jury trials on behalf of government agencies in state and federal courts. Before practicing law, she served as a legal clerk for Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye of the California Supreme Court, in addition to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  

  • Trial counsel for prominent craft brewery in trademark dispute alleging claims of trademark infringement and unfair competition, including moving for a preliminary injunction to cease infringing conduct
  • Trial counsel for innovative peer-to-peer RV rental company in trademark and copyright dispute against competitor, including filing a motion to dismiss which led to a successful resolution at mediation
  • Trial counsel for pioneering frozen meal subscription company in trade secret and trade dress dispute against former co-packer, including seeking a preliminary injunction which led to advantageous settlement
  • Successfully defended trade secret lawsuit brought against founders of Silicon Valley wealth management firm and secured a no-payment dismissal
