Rich Wood draws on his extensive background as a city attorney and advisor to municipalities on economic development matters to counsel clients on real estate development projects, including economic development incentives, development agreements and land use approvals.  Rich brings more than 25 years of experience to the table and is able to assist clients through the early stages of a project to obtain entitlements and incentives and continue that assistance all the way through the closing of permanent financing, including municipal bond financings.   • Takeout municipal bond financings for multiple shopping center developments nationwide utilizing tax increment and special taxing district revenues
  • Negotiation and implementation of tax abatement incentives for multiple industrial and warehouse facilities in the Kansas City market
  • Counseled the master developer of a mixed use development, including hotels, entertainment, retail and apartments, on financing and incentives
  • Advised the developer of multi-family projects on entitlements and incentives
  • Advised the developer of a senior living facility on entitlements and incentives
  • Negotiated incentives for the redevelopment of an existing office tower in downtown Kansas City into Class A office space
