Steve partners with clients to understand their business objectives and develop strategic and efficient ways to achieve their specific goals. He is a seasoned litigator that takes a comprehensive approach in all phases of litigation, including fact discovery, motions practice, trials and appeal. Steve has a particular focus on litigation in Delaware’s federal and state courts, including Delaware Chancery Court. His experience with Delaware Courts has resulted in a deep familiarity with the procedures, practices and preferences of the judges before whom he practices. He can assist in all matters pending in Delaware, including serving as Delaware counsel for referring counsel and as conflicts counsel.

Steve has extensive experience representing clients in patent litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, the busiest patent litigation court in the United States. Prior to his legal career, Steve gained valuable technical experience as an electrical engineer, designing circuits related to traffic control systems.

In addition to his practice, Steve regularly devotes his time to pro bono cases, such as representing petitioners seeking Protection From Abuse (“PFA”) Orders in Delaware Family Court. Steve has helped many clients successfully obtain PFA orders, both through trial and mediation.

  • Successfully brought and resolved a petition for mediation through the Delaware Court of Chancery’s Mediation Only Program for technology disputes under 10 Del. C. § 346.
  • Represented plaintiff as Delaware trial counsel in successful Hatch-Waxman trial that resulted in a post-trial opinion finding that the asserted patent was not invalid.
  • Represented defendant as Delaware trial counsel in successful trial that resulted in jury verdict of non-infringement.
