Teeka Harrison has over 7 years of experience representing and advising employers in various aspects of employment law and litigation, before federal and state courts.  Teeka’s practice focuses on matters arising under the FLSA, Title VII, the ADAAA, the ADEA, Section 1981, the FMLA, and other federal and state employment, contract and tort laws. 

Teeka has served as the senior associate on Rule 23 and FLSA collective action cases against employers.  She has handled class and/or collective action allegations involving misclassification, off-the-clock work, tip-credit, and alleged failure to pay overtime.

Teeka values working closely with the legal and management teams of her corporate clients as well as individual defendants to achieve their individual and business goals. Her ability to build strong relationships with those who have “boots on the ground” promotes a seamless flow of information, which allows Teeka to identify key issues and strengths and weaknesses in a case. 
  • Lead associate in pending, certified FLSA collective action against national retailer challenging the exempt status of regional loss prevention managers nationwide.
  • Succeeded in obtaining summary judgment on ERISA claims by former executive of a leading communications, media, and automotive services company.
  • Obtained voluntary dismissal of a group of customers alleging racial discrimination against national restaurant chain.
  • Lead associate in putative FLSA collective and New York Labor Law class action against national retailer challenging the exempt status of store managers based on the salary basis requirement. Helped obtain a favorable resolution.
  • Prepared briefing for and second chaired argument at an evidentiary hearing, which resulted in a favorable ruling applying Georgia’s psychologist-patient privilege to corporate psychologists’ work for corporate clients.
  • Lead associate in putative FLSA collective action against national retailer challenging the exempt status of sales executives. Helped secure venue transfer which led to favorable resolution.
  • Obtained voluntary dismissal with prejudice from a former employee alleging race discrimination and retaliation against an international provider of goods and services.
  • Obtained dismissal through summary judgment of state tort and employment contract claims brought against a private college.
  • Prevailed at summary judgment on religious discrimination, retaliation, and harassment claims brought under Title VII against a national retail company.
  • Assisted with the representation of gas station owner in a putative collective action in the Southeast alleging minimum wage and overtime violations under the FLSA and state law, resulting in favorable resolution.
  • Assisted with the representation of a contractor/manufacturer after class action was certified in an action by African-American and female employees claiming discrimination under Title VII. The team obtained highly favorable resolution for Company. 
  • Obtained summary judgement for national electronics retailer on claims of race discrimination, retaliation, and negligent retention/supervision by a former employee.
  • Secured dismissal of Section 1983 claims brought against a private actor employer.
  • Assisted in winning summary judgment and the dismissal of reverse race and age discrimination claims brought against a U.S. linen and uniform service.
  • Successfully argued unemployment compensation appeal before state court.
  • Lead role advising on nationwide reduction-in-force.
  • Represented employers in litigation and investigations initiated by the EEOC.
  • Assisted with defending national retailer against eleven FLSA collective and class actions filed in multiple courts around the country challenging the exempt status of assistant store managers. Helped obtain a favorable consolidated result for client.
