Dr. J. Wendy Davis, is a registered patent agent with more than 20 years of experience in patent prosecution in the biotechnology and life sciences field. Drawing on her Ph.D. in molecular biology and decades of experience in law firms, she counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property issues including patentability and prior art search, strategic portfolio development and due diligence. She advises clients regarding the filing and prosecution of PCT and foreign national patent applications. She has extensive patent prosecution and portfolio management experience in the areas of molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, biomedical devices, nanotechnology and array technologies. 

Since the start of her patent prosecution career in 1997, Wendy has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and biomedical devices. She has worked extensively with both academic and industrial clients, ranging from small start-ups to large companies. She has managed patent portfolios for a variety of clients including academic institutions, non-profit organizations and biotechnology companies. Working alongside seasoned Polsinelli attorneys, she is dedicated to serving each client’s full range of intellectual property needs. 

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Wendy has authored memorandums and co-authored an internal newsletter article on Chinese patent law and regulations on genetically modified plants as guide/reference for colleagues and clients. Throughout her career, she has assisted in strategically prosecuting patent applications in China. In addition, she has assisted transactional and litigation patent attorneys in technology licensing and patent disputes involving Chinese entities.
