As an associate in the Real Estate Finance practice, Yelena (“Lena”) Chan represents banks and other lenders in connection with originating, negotiating and documenting various types of financing transactions, including bridge, construction, permanent and mezzanine loans for multifamily, hotel, health care, office and retail projects. She also represents owners, developers and investors in a variety of commercial real estate transactions with an emphasis on the purchase and sale of both improved and unimproved property, financing and development.

Additionally, Yelena assists master and special loan servicers in a wide range of servicing related matters, including loan modifications, restructuring and workouts.

Yelena is also part-time faculty at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, where she teaches an undergraduate business law class, the Legal and Ethical Analysis of Business Environments.

  • Represented hotel developer in acquisition of land, negotiating financing and development of a new hotel.
  • Represented senior living developer in the acquisition, financing and operation of assisted living and memory care facilities.
  • Represents lender clients for balance sheet and conduit mortgage loans and mezzanine loan originations.
  • Represents significant loan originators and special servicers in conjunction with the issuance and servicing of loans and CLOs.
