  • Served as lead regulatory and development counsel for multiple high-voltage electric transmission line projects, including guiding clients through certificate and siting proceedings in three states, advising on land acquisition and condemnation and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Guided a client through the regulatory process related to the acquisition of existing transmission facilities and the transfer of such facilities to a Regional Transmission Organization.
  • Represented a CO2 pipeline developer in state regulatory proceedings for the certification and siting of the pipeline and sequestration facilities.
  • Represented transmission-owning public utilities in the development of Line Siting Principles and Priorities applicable to future transmission projects in Kansas.
  • Represented a transmission-owning public utility and its owners regarding the sale of the public utility to a foreign holding company. Successfully guided the clients through the application and hearing process at the KCC and obtained regulatory approval for the sale. 
  • Represented a Lessor at the end of a 28-year sale-leaseback agreement involving an undivided interest in a large, operating coal-fired generator. Guided the Lessor through significant regulatory obstacles and successfully negotiated a lease extension and transfer of the undivided interest back to the majority owner of the generator. 
  • Represented a developer on a 10.5 MW solar installation on a United States military base. Guided the client through state public utility law and the Federal Enclave Doctrine to arrive at a fully financeable, large-scale solar project.
