Chris Rowley helps real estate clients structure, document and close transactions that support development, investment and financing objectives. He represents commercial developers, national homebuilders, master-planned community developers, landlords and tenants, resort and gaming operators, energy companies, capital partners and borrowers in transactions involving residential communities, mixed-use developments, commercial properties and large-scale resort assets.

Chris works across the full transaction life cycle, from structuring and term sheet negotiation through diligence, title and survey review, approvals, closing and post-closing agreements. His practice spans acquisitions and dispositions, development and land use strategy, and the structuring of complex capital arrangements across the capital stack, including joint ventures, preferred equity, construction and bridge financing, tax-advantaged structures such as like-kind exchanges, and other real estate-secured lending.

He also supports clients in related corporate, financial and distressed-asset matters, including loan workouts, corporate and financial restructurings, receiverships, bankruptcy proceedings, tenant defaults and pre-litigation dispute resolution.

Before beginning his legal career, Chris served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant and played nearly a decade of professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and Minnesota Twins. In 2017, he became the first West Point graduate to play Major Leagues.
