David Bird is passionate about the health care industry and understanding the numerous complexities and legal issues that can impact health care related businesses. As an Associate in the Health Care Services practice, David focuses on providing transactional, operational and regulatory counsel on a variety of issues.  

David regularly advises hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and providers on transactional and regulatory matters, including:

  • Health care mergers, acquisitions and other change of control transactions
  • Clinical Integrations
  • Affiliation agreements
  • Professional services agreements
  • Employment agreements for health care clients
  • Compliance with the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute
  • State and federal licensure requirements
  • HIPAA and privacy matters
  • State and federal telehealth and telemedicine arrangements

While pursuing his Concentration in Health Law at St. Louis University, David focused his studies on health care business and finance, compliance, and fraud and abuse. This experience has given David a foundation for better understanding clients’ challenges in an ever-changing health care landscape.
